Open Play Time

In July 2013 we joined The Dog Gurus community!  We are excited to be part of a membership group that is focused on raising the bar of safety in off-leash dog play.  Community members have exclusive first access to new tools and resources developed by The Dog Gurus.  Know your dog’s care is in the hands of professionals with a commitment to ongoing learning and access to the latest industry trends.  The Dog Gurus are the pet care industry leaders in the creation of resources with the goal of keeping all dogs safe.

What is OPT:

You come with your dog to one hour of socialization with other dogs and their owners.

Due to the popularity of OPT, especially during the winter, we need you to please call ahead and let us know you want to attend so you will be assured a spot. We must limit the max number of dogs attending each play period for the benefit of all. Thank you for understanding.

Every Friday.*

5:30-6:30 pm: Toy breeds and small dogs (under 25 lbs.)

6:30-7:30 pm: Larger Puppies and medium adult dogs ( 30 - 50 lbs; very timid dogs can be heavier pending approval.)

7:30 - 8:30 pm: Large adult dogs (over 60 lbs. indoors restricted to 8 dogs; please call for reservations)

*Check the schedule for closed dates, please.

We will either have a special section fenced off for the smaller/ more timid dogs of the group, or divide the dogs into indoors and outside play (if weather permits). This is to assure that everybody has fun and nobody gets overpowered.

Canine Good Citizens Discount

Is your dog a Canine Good Citizen? If your dog passed the CGC-test within the last 3 years, we’ll give you a $5 discount on your punch card for Open Play Times! Ask us about having your dog CGC-tested. The test is planned to take place 1-2 times per year. Please watch our calendar for dates.

  1. We accept dog-friendly dogs only.
  2. Health status as for DDC.
  3. Reservation recommended.
  4. If coming to OPT for the first time, please call the office and let us know. We will take your information, let you know which group you might best fit into and if you need to sign up for an evaluation before attending OPT (usually for larger dogs and some medium-size adult dogs to ascertain their play style and suitability for group play). The goal is to make this a fun experience for dogs and owners alike!

First-time evaluations are held after OPT between 8-8:30pm and have a one-time cost of $30.

1 hr: $12; punch card (5+1 visits): $60
